PURCHASE
PROTECTION.
Clear terms for your purchase, warranty and after-sales support. For New Zealand and overseas customers.
01Seller and scope
This policy applies to vehicles and related products purchased from VOLTRAX NZ LIMITED. VOLTRAX NZ LIMITED receives payment, issues invoices and is responsible for after-sales support for both New Zealand and overseas orders.
Our New Zealand store serves the New Zealand market. Orders for other countries and regions are dispatched from our factory in China. Factory dispatch does not change the customer’s sales relationship with VOLTRAX NZ LIMITED.
02Payment and change of mind
After payment is completed, we do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds solely for a change of mind, personal preference or because the product is no longer needed. This rule applies only to voluntary returns where there is no product issue.
The no-change-of-mind rule does not restrict remedies for faulty or misdescribed products, or other circumstances where a remedy is required by law.
03Statutory rights take priority
Neither this policy nor the three-month commercial warranty excludes, restricts or replaces applicable statutory consumer rights. Where the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act applies, products must meet the relevant guarantees of quality, safety, durability and description.
Statutory rights may continue beyond three months. Expiry of the commercial warranty does not automatically end all our obligations. Overseas customers retain any mandatory rights under applicable local law.
04Start date and duration
The commercial warranty lasts three calendar months from actual delivery. For store collection, it starts on the handover date. For delivered or overseas orders, it starts when the customer receives the vehicle, rather than on payment or factory dispatch.
Please retain your invoice, order and delivery records so that purchase and delivery dates can be verified.
05Covered components
The three-month commercial warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship affecting the complete vehicle, motor, battery and controller under normal use. For a confirmed covered fault, we provide assessment and appropriate repair without charge, including necessary parts and repair labour.
The battery and controller have the same three-month warranty period. This policy does not promise a fixed range or battery-capacity retention percentage; products must nevertheless meet express promises made at sale and applicable statutory guarantees.
06Normal use and damage
Customers should follow the operating, charging and maintenance instructions supplied at delivery. Damage directly caused by an accident, misuse, incorrect charging or modification, and ordinary wear unrelated to a defect, is generally outside the materials-or-workmanship warranty.
Exclusions must be assessed against the cause of the particular fault. A modification, repair history or prior use alone is not a blanket reason to reject a claim. Abnormal or premature failure must still be assessed against expected durability and applicable law.
07Making a claim
Contact us promptly by the service email or phone and provide proof of purchase, the model or vehicle identification, delivery date, a description of the fault, and photos or videos that can be obtained safely.
Stop using the vehicle if the issue involves brakes, steering, battery overheating or another safety concern. Do not continue driving or carry out unsafe tests to obtain evidence.
08Assessment and minor faults
We first assess the issue and arrange any necessary inspection. For minor repairable faults, we will normally repair the product, or may provide a replacement or refund as appropriate. The remedy must be completed within a reasonable time, with arrangements and progress explained to the customer.
Commercial warranty claims made within three months follow this process. Statutory claims may still be made after three months; we will not refuse assessment solely because the commercial warranty has expired.
09Serious faults and remedies
For a serious or unremediable fault, or where we refuse or fail to provide a remedy within a reasonable time, the customer retains applicable rights to a refund, replacement, recovery of repair costs or other remedies.
Where New Zealand law gives the customer a choice of remedy, we will not require repair first. A refund due by law will not be replaced solely with store credit or a voucher; the refund method will be confirmed with the customer.
10Transport and service costs
The buyer pays inspection, repair and transport costs where the issue is outside commercial warranty and statutory coverage. Before incurring charges, we will explain the reason and estimated costs and obtain agreement. Making a claim does not itself trigger a charge.
For faults for which we are legally responsible, we cover or reimburse reasonable, necessary inspection or return transport costs. Where a large vehicle cannot be returned without significant cost and the law requires collection, we will collect it at our expense.
11Service arrangements and overseas support
Contact us to confirm the service or return location, packaging and transport method before sending the vehicle. Do not ship to an unconfirmed address. This process coordinates transport and does not limit statutory rejection rights or impose an additional legal permission requirement.
VOLTRAX NZ LIMITED handles overseas after-sales support; customers are not required to pursue the China factory alone. Delivery method, expected timing, freight and tax arrangements should be confirmed in writing before dispatch. Remedies and transport arrangements are determined according to the order and applicable law.
